Accommodation

What accommodation options do you have?

We have 6 heated glamping pods with private W/C and tea/coffee making facilities available year-round. We have 4 luxury bell tents with real beds and electricity available from May through August.

Are the Bell Tents suitable for babies and young children?

This really depends on your child. Most children sleep well in the tents however if your child is very sensitive to light, the tents are bright in day light so you will be up when the sun is up! If your child naps during the day, you need to keep in mind that the tents can get very hot when the sun is shining.

Can I bring a travel cot?

We do not provide travel cots but you are welcome to bring one with you. Please mention this when booking a Bell Tent so we can remove a camp bed to accommodate it.

I have never slept in a Bell Tent before, what do I need to pack?

This is Ireland, the weather will be unpredictable and changeable so you will need lots of layers! Bring warm clothes to sleep in, woolly socks and a hat. Lots of guests find that an eye mask and hot water bottle are useful. You will be spending your days outdoors in nature so leave your high heels at home and pack hiking boots, runners, sunglasses, raincoat, swimming togs, bug spray, torch and sunscreen. You will be provided with bed linen and towels but please bring your own beach towel.

Do your pods have showers?

No, the pods at Wild Atlantic Glamping have a private toilet and sink, but do not include a shower. Showers are available in the main facilities building approximately 50 metres from the pods, and are accessible to guests at all times.

Do the pods have a kitchenette?

No, the pods have tea/coffee making facilities but the cooking facilities are located in the well euipped communal kitchen and dining area in the main facilities building, which is located approximately 50 metres from the pods.

I have booked a Bell Tent, do I have my own bathroom?

No, Bell Tents do not have private bathrooms.

Guests staying in Bell Tents use the shared toilets and showers in the main facilities building, which is located approximately 50 metres from the tents and is open 24 hours a day.

Can you lock the Bell Tents?

No, the tents are closed with a zip. We recommend that you leave any valuables at home.

Is there somewhere that I can pitch my own tent?

We don’t have an area for people pitching their own tents.

How about food? Are there shops, restaurants, and pubs on the island?

Rerrin Village is 2km from the glampsite. It has a pub (limited opening hours off-season) and a small shop for essentials such as bread, milk, and butter (open daily until lunchtime off-season, and for one hour on Sundays). The Bakehouse Café, open seasonally, serves breakfast, lunch, and early evening meals. For year-round dining, The Hotel, a pub and restaurant 3.5 km from the campsite, offers evening meals (limited hours from September to June - we recommend calling ahead).

For your convenience, you can stock up on fresh local produce and groceries at SuperValu in Castletown, located before you take the ferry to Bere Island.
