  • Event Space

    An indoor space that can be used as a dining room, or with tables and chairs removed to create an open area for workshops and yoga retreats.

  • Private Sea Access

    Enjoy your own private sea access from the glamping site, and a pier just a short stroll away - perfect for high-tide jumping.

  • Large

    Covered Terrace

    A large all-weather covered terrace with a seating area and fire pit, with complimentary kiln-dried logs.

  • Kitchen

    Fully equipped double kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 fridges, 2 sinks with hot water, 2 hobs, 2 microwaves, plus cookware, utensils, serving dishes, and everything you need to prepare your meals with ease.

  • Welcome Pack

    A Welcome Pack on arrival includes Bere Island Honey, Lorge Hot Chocolate, Joe’s Farm Crisps, and marshmallows.

  • Showers & Toilets

    The communal building houses clean toilets and hot showers, as well as a washing machine and drying area.

  • Tableware

    All tableware and cookware are provided, including serving dishes, platters, and decorative vases for events.

  • BBQ Area

    With 2 x gas and 2 x charcoal BBQs. We provide complimentary gas, charcoal and kiln dried logs for the fire pit.

We booked out Catríona's site this summer and it was the best week...the location is absolutely gorgeous with a stoney beach at the end of the grounds, perfect for smallies to play and explore, a pier just up the lane, perfect for jumps into the gorgeous clear sea. The facilities are amazing and spotlessly clean, and the kitchen has everything you could need. We turned the communal dining room into a huge kids playroom, so even on the rainy days they were happy campers. The bell tents are so comfortable and the beds so cosy. I couldn't recommend it more."

The site is beautifully situated beside a stoney beach & near an old pier, giving great swimming/snorkelling/kayaking options. The views of Hungry Hill and Bantry Bay are spectacular. Bere island has lots to offer but you can have a great holiday without ever leaving the Glamping site!"

  • 6m Bell Tents (up to 5 guests)

    Ardnakinna & Roancarrig

    Larger tents with a double and 2 single beds. A 3rd camp bed can be added. Sleeps up to 4 adults who would prefer not to share a bed or 2 adults and 3 children. Electricity, cool box, bed linen and towels are provided

  • 5m Bell Tents (up to 4 guests)

    Doonbeg & Rerrin

    5m bell tents with a double bed. 2 single camp beds can be added to accommodate 3 adults who would prefer not to share a bed or 2 adults and 2 children. Electricity, cool box, bed linen and towels are provided.

Spotless clean. We had fantastic swims from the pier right in front of site. Beautiful views. The facilities are excellent with a very well-equipped kitchen. Bere Island is such an amazing location and everyone we met was really friendly. Catriona is a super host with a wealth of information. She organised an amazing fish tasting meal at the site one of the nights. Would highly recommend it, a great place to go with a group of people."

Things to do

Enjoy all of the outdoor activities Bere Island has to offer before finishing off your day toasting marshmallows at the fire pit.

 

  • Swimming

    There are plenty of popular swimming spots on the island but jumping off the pier by the glamping site at high tide is a firm favourite.

  • Kayaking

    In partnership with Bantry Bay Boats, we offer kayaking rental and organised tours around Lawrence Cove from the glamping site.

  • Hiking

    Choose from 5 main trails, from 30 minutes to 8 hours, that bring you through the views across Beara, the Slieve Miskish and the Caha mountains.

  • Cycling

    Offering various levels of difficulty for cyclists, choose from level routes for a relaxing cycle, or hilly climbs as part of the Beara Cycle Way.

  • Rock Pools

    Explore the underwater world of weird and wonderful sea creatures and barnacle-encrusted rocks in the rock pools around the island.

  • Historical Trails

    Learn about Bere Island’s rich military history at the Heritage Centre, and visit the remains of military fortifications across the island.

  • Beaches

    Visit the island’s two beaches Scairt and Cloughland. Scairt Beach is a hidden gem with its clear water and sandy shores.
