NOW FULLY BOOKED Yogalates Glamping Weekend Retreat with Tricia Murphy

Join us for a social and energising weekend of physio-led yogalates, kayaking, swimming, good food, and great company.

Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May, 2024

Enjoy a social weekend of yogalates, kayaking, and swimming. Yogalates is a blend of Yoga and Pilates with a focus on core strength. This is an all inclusive retreat and a private chef will be on site to prepare delicious vegetarian meals each day leaving you free to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life, immerse yourself in nature and soak up the spectacular scenery of Bere Island.

This retreat is perfect if you love the outdoors and are looking for a relaxing weekend away, either on your own or with a friend or two. The main focus of the weekend is yogalates but other optional activities such as swimming and kayaking are included. The choice is yours to do as little or as much as you want to create your perfect island retreat. Drift off to sleep in a bell tent listening to the sounds of the sea, and then zip open your tent in the morning to watch the sun rise up over Bantry Bay from your cosy bed. Enjoy nourishing local produce, sea swimming, kayaking, and hikes as you switch off and enjoy the freedom of island life.

The yogalates classes are designed to help improve your balance, posture and core strength. The classes are split into groups based on levels and past experience; Level 1 for beginners or for anyone recovering from an injury, and Level 2 for more experienced participants. Your instructor Tricia will meet you before the classes to discuss your goals for the weekend.

Each meal will be freshly prepared by Leah Crowley. Leah is a very experienced, freelance chef who has previously worked in some of Cork’s best restaurants including Paradiso, The Farmgate, and The Crawford. She is passionate about using local, in-season produce to create deliciously tasty and colourful vegetarian dishes.

FAQs

Who are the Yogalates Class suitable for?

The classes are split into 2 groups and you can discuss with Tricia which group is best suitable for you. Exercises will be modified to suit your individual needs

What else should I pack with me?

Don’t forget that you will be sleeping in a tent; a very luxurious tent, certainly, but it is still a tent! The Irish weather can be unpredictable and changeable, so we suggest packing plenty of layers. It can get cold at night, so bring warm clothes to sleep in, woolly socks, a hat and maybe even a hot water bottle. You’ll be spending your days outdoors in nature so pack plenty of activewear, hiking boots, warm clothes for bedtime, towels and toiletries.

What services are available on the island?

Don’t forget there isn’t any ATM or petrol station on the island, so please make sure you fill your wallet and your car before leaving the mainland. Some businesses take payment by card, but for smaller purchases you may want a little cash with you.

Do I need to bring bed linen & towels?

We provide bed linen and towels, but please bring your own beach towel.

How do I get to Wild Atlantic Glamping?

Bere Island is served by two car ferries (see Getting There for more details). You will need to reverse onto the ferry, so join the queue ready to reverse down the pier. Please note that you cannot book the ferries in advance, so at peak times you might have to queue but if the ferry is full, don’t worry, they will come straight back for you - you will not be left behind! There will be signs from the ferry for the glamping site. Ferry prices are on their websites and the ferry can only take payment in cash, so make sure you have some with you.
